Meth Addiction Treatment Center in South Boston, Virginia

Methamphetamine addiction is a complex, progressive disease that can be devastating to a person’s emotional and physical health.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), methamphetamine, more commonly known as meth, is a synthetic stimulant that causes a person to feel a temporary burst of alertness, euphoria, and energy.

The effects of meth don’t last long, and the drug drives the brain to seek more meth so that a person can keep having those same experiences. This creates a dangerous cycle that can sometimes be fatal.

At Southstone Recovery Center, we have created a place where women who are battling meth addiction can find recovery in a safe, welcoming environment. Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides women with the care they need to achieve lasting sobriety.

Signs & Symptoms of Meth Addiction

While not everyone experiences the same symptoms of meth addiction, there are common signs that may indicate that a person has developed an addiction to meth. If someone is showing these meth addiction symptoms or warning signs, it’s likely time to reach out for professional help:

  • Bursts of energy or alertness
  • Irritable or aggressive behavior
  • Increasing paranoia

  • Breathes faster than usual
  • Pounding heart
  • Erratic heartbeat
  • Body feels overly hot

The signs of meth addiction aren’t the same for everyone, but knowing some common meth addiction symptoms can save someone’s life.

Meth Addiction Effects

While everyone’s experience is different, the effects of meth addiction can often be felt in every aspect of a person’s life. In the absence of professional treatment, common meth addiction effects include:

  • Frequent arrest or incarceration
  • Suicidal thoughts or actions

The effects of meth addiction can be long-lasting. But by getting help as soon as possible, you can reduce your risk for suffering from any long-term meth addiction effects.

Therapies Used to Treat Meth Addiction

The meth addiction treatment we provide at Southstone Recovery Center is designed to address the specific needs of women. At our addiction treatment center, women age 18 and older receive personalized meth addiction treatment through our partial hospitalization program, which provides care seven days a week.

We primarily use group therapy, focusing on a variety of topics, such as education about meth, planning for sobriety, emotion regulation, and relapse prevention. Depending on your specific needs and goals, your care team may also recommend individual counseling, family therapy, and medication management.

To meet a diverse set of needs, we also use a variety of therapies and approaches, including motivational interviewing, DBT-informed therapy, redecision therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and the 12 Steps of recovery.

Steps to Enter Our Meth Addiction Treatment Center

We recognize how overwhelming it can be when you’re struggling with a meth addiction. Our phone service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can contact us whenever you’re ready to get started.

When you reach out to us, you’ll be referred to our admissions department so that one of our admissions coordinators can conduct an initial screening. This process involves an informal conversation during which an admissions coordinator will ask you about your medical history, the nature and severity of your symptoms, and your goals for seeking treatment with us.

Based on this conversation, we’ll determine whether Southstone Recovery Center is the best place for you or if another facility might better fit your needs. If you’re approved for admission, we’ll walk you through the rest of the admissions process and set a date for you to start meth addiction treatment with us. But if we believe that another facility would be more appropriate for you, we’ll refer you to a meth addiction treatment center we have vetted.

At Southstone Recovery Center, our goal is for you to get the meth addiction treatment you deserve — whether that’s with us or somewhere else. With our help, you can get on the path to a better, brighter future.

Choosing the Right Prescription Drug Addiction Treatment Center

Making the choice to pursue treatment for a prescription drug addiction is a brave one that can yield positive results.

The challenge lies in finding the right place to get treatment. To help you find the treatment center that is right for you, consider the following questions:

  • Does this treatment center offer the personalized care I need?
  • Is this level of care right for me, or should I look for a higher level of support?
  • Will I get to work closely with a team of addiction treatment specialists and other healthcare professionals?
  • What will my day-to-day while in treatment look like? Are there different services available to me that will help me make positive changes?
  • What happens once I’m discharged? Will I be given a thorough aftercare plan that will help me stay sober after my time in treatment is over?

Our treatment place is located on a 200-acre campus that features a 5-acre lake for fishing, art and pottery studios, a gymnasium for sports like basketball and volleyball, and outdoor recreation areas for activities such as gardening, hiking, football, and soccer. We offer basic elements of care in addition to recreational therapies to help women navigate treatment with ease.

Prescription drug addiction is a difficult diagnosis. But when you seek care at a premier treatment facility like Southstone Recovery Center, you can achieve lasting recovery.
